BACKGROUND: There's a wikia here but it's literally 3 lines so I'm just gonna ramble for a bit.

Tomas was born in Chicago but due to poverty he was sent to live in Mexico City with his grandma when he was very young. His sister stayed in the US so they didn't get to grow up together.

His grandmother raised him in the Catholic faith and encouraged him to participate in the church and church activities, so as he grew older, Tomas decided to pursue a career in priesthood. After his grandma passed away, Tomas moved back to the US to attend a seminar and then become a priest. As a new, young priest he was given a small church which he's been looking after and has also managed to increase church attendance.

He's very well-liked as the head of his church and regarded as a community leader. He makes an effort to engage with his parishioners and he helps in any way he can.

Outside of the church, Tomas doesn't have that much of a personal life. He sees his sister and nephew often and he likes to jog. He also has an old crush with whom he exchanges letter (and later, spoilers) but other than that, his life is his work.

Personality wise he is very kind, selfless and intensely stubborn. Once he believes in a cause there is nothing that will make him let go of it, not even his own dumb mistakes.


INCENTIVE: If the city were willing and capable of just sending all demons currently on Earth to go back to hell, he'd go with that (GO BIG OR GO HOME AMIRITE) if he had to pick something smaller, he'd want to ensure the Rance's family's safety and protection from any further demonic possession.
FIT: Tomas is very sexually inexperienced, the catholic church is big on celibacy and even though Tomas has had sex, he hasn't had much of it, nor with many partners. (He's slept with one woman a handful of times.) SO he will absolutely avoid sex, at least at first.

He's aware of the kind of deal he's making though, and will be happy to hug people and hold hands and engage in non-sexual intimacy until he gets to know someone well enough to have sex. (Or he gets swept off his feet, I mean, that could also happen.)
CONSENT: He's a Good Boy who wants to become an exorcist whose job is essentially to get shitty ass demon who go into people's bodies without permission. He ttly understands how consent works.
